Yandex Market Language is a file format developed by Yandex for entering information into the Yandex.Market service database. It is based on the XML standard, and uses the UTF-8 and windows-1251 file encodings. The components of a YML file include the XML header, the root element (yml_catalog), a description of the online store and its products, the store name, the company name, the store URL, and the CMS and version used. The format is used when generating price lists from Google Docs, OpenOffice and Excel spreadsheet editors or the Yandex.Market database.
