STM is the brand name for a series of microcontrollers manufactured by the European company STMicroelectronics. STM chips fall into two families: 8-bit STM8 and 32-bit STM32. These in turn are grouped into different series using one version of the ARM core. Each microcontroller includes a processor core, flash memory and static RAM memory, as well as debugging and other peripheral interfaces. A distinctive feature of STM microcontrollers is the preservation of pin-to-pin compatibility across the model range, which makes it easy to replace a microcontroller with a more advanced model.
Waste accumulates as people fill up smart bins, and sensors on microcontrollers send information to a server around the clock. A refuse truck is given an individual shift route that matches the waste class being transported. The mobile application guides the refuse truck along the route and monitors its visit to each container and the final collection site.
