SOAP, originally Simple Object Access Protocol, is an extension of the XML-RPC (remote procedure call) protocol, used to exchange structured messages in a distributed computing environment. It was designed by Dave Winer, Don Box, Bob Atkinson and Mohsen Al-Ghosein for Microsoft as an object-access protocol in 1998. The specification was submitted to the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and made available in 1999. A SOAP message is an XML document, and contains a SOAP envelope, a body and, optionally, a header and fault information. SOAP is used in the HTTPS, HTTP, FTP and SMTP protocols.
Booking tickets for TixCom events consists of a client side and a user side. On the client side events, descriptions, prices and seating plans can be specified. When booking a ticket invoices can be created by request on the user side. A widget for posting to third-party platforms has been developed. A mobile application can be used to collect tickets on arrival.
